Safeguarding

Safeguarding Your Children at The Holy Spirit

We are an Operation Encompass School

We work with the police to provide support to our young children in our community, who have heard / seen or witnessed domestic abuse. Children in these cases will arrive at school distressed and needing support. Operation Encompass ensures to inform school early of such incidents to enable us to be there for our children, so that they feel safe and secure.

Safeguarding is our main priority at The Holy Spirit. Our aim as a whole staff is to provide a culture, where everyone is safe and happy. Our staff strive to provide a nurturing environment so that all children can love, believe, achieve and thrive. Therefore, safety, health and welfare are at the forefront of all we do. To promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm, we have procedures and policies in place to ensure your children are safe, whilst in school.

Safeguarding means:

  • Protecting children from abuse or maltreatment
  • Preventing harm to children's health or development
  • Ensuring children grow up with the provision of safe and effective care
  • Taking action to enable all children and young people to have the best outcomes
  • Safeguarding children and child protection guidance and legislation applies to all of our children

At our school, the key adults are:

Mrs Connolly (Headteacher) and Mrs Crabbe (Deputy Headteacher, Designated Safeguarding Lead and SENDCO)
