Attendance
Here at The Holy Spirit, every lesson counts, therefore, attendance is one of our main priorities. We want all pupils to attend school, so that they have every opportunity to reach their full potential. Our pupils love learning and it is only through good attendance and working together, that they are able to thrive and achieve their best. Staff work together to support families to enable children to attend school.
At The Holy Spirit, staff appreciate at times attendance can fluctuate because of viruses and other illnesses, and the impact this has on learning.
Punctuality is also key to building a good attitude to learning. At times throughout the year we will encourage and monitor punctuality and attendance to ensure that pupils do not miss out on their learning.

School attendance (halton.gov.uk)
We ask that parents and carers only keep your child at home if they are too poorly to attend school.
Please inform school by contacting the school office explaining your child's absence.
Keeping regular contact with parents/carers allows us all to have a focus on children’s attendance. Therefore, school will send out half termly letters to inform parents/carers of their child’s current attendance percentage.
We do not authorise holidays taken in term times unless for very specific circumstances. Holidays taken in term time may lead to you being fined by the Education Welfare Team.
If attendance is persistent, our attendance lead will contact these parents and offer support wherever possible.
If you have any concerns or questions regarding Attendance. Please speak to the School Office to speak to the Attendance Lead who will be able to support and answer any questions you may have. Our attendance is published every week in our newsletter, please support school to reach our goals.
